Glynwood Community Primary School
On behalf of Glynwood Community Primary, I am delighted to welcome you to the school website. I hope that you find all the information that you need. Glynwood is a very happy school where everyone works together to achieve the absolute best for the children. The dedicated staff team work hard to ensure that everyone in the school community has a voice, is valued and reaches their full potential in everything that they do.

We are very proud of the curriculum and the opportunities that the children are offered both as part of the school day and beyond. We also work hard to embed the values of resilience, excellence, support, pride, engagement, creativity and team work (RESPECT) within the curriculum and wider opportunities.

A Glynwood pupil will understand their relationship with the world and their place within it. Our Humanities curriculum has been carefully designed by an experienced subject lead to ensure all of our children progress from EYFS to Year 6, through a variety of inclusive, engaging and challenging experiences and opportunities.
The National Curriculum sets standards of achievement in each subject for pupils aged 5 to 14. We are required to give teacher assessments and standard assessment task results for this school and national data from 2013. At Glynwood, P.E. is an integral and fun part of the curriculum. We strive to plan broad and balanced lessons which cover many areas of activity. We support children with individual needs to aid development and progression of skills. By Year 6 we try to consolidate and extend the skills learnt in preparation for the children's transition to Secondary School.
Became a governor mainly because I believe education is essential for our children and I wanted to serve the school where my two children were educated. Financial (European and National Government Funding), budget keeping and audit, fundraising for charities and Governance (constitutional advice). Professional experience regarding adoption and fostering regulations, Adoption Support Fund, Education and Health Care Plans (SEN).

I can't praise this school enough. The staff / teachers are like family. Fantastic friendly environment that is focussed on the development of your childs potential. Cracking after school clubs and trips. You can park at 2 different sides of the school for drop off and pick up (don't park across peoples drives please👍). You won't regret sending your child here. If you don't want to take my word for it book an appointment with the head teacher and have a look round the school with her, you'll see for yourself 😀
