At Ballykelly Primary School and Nursery Unit we welcome children of all races, faiths and backgrounds to a warm and welcoming atmosphere where mutual respect and acceptance underpin the school's caring ethos. The school is fully resourced and set in spacious grounds with our very own woodland trail!
This makes learning outdoors as much fun as learning indoors. Staff aim to educate pupils to their full potential within a broad & balanced curriculum and are deeply committed to providing our children with the highest standard of teaching & learning. We pride ourselves in being a school in the heart of the community and work in partnership with parents and local community groups to ensure we provide the best education our children deserve.

The Speech and Language Class have worked so hard this term developing their listening skills and following tricky instructions. We have been learning all about rhyme; the children can identify when two objects rhyme and generate lots of rhyming words. We have lots of fun games in class to help us develop this skill.
The Speech and Language Class at Ballykelly Primary School is a specialised class for children in Primaries 1-4 who have a Specific Language Impairment (SLI). The class offers teaching covering all aspects of the Northern Ireland Curriculum but with extra emphasis being placed on language development.
This year our teacher is Mrs McAuley and our classroom assistant is Mrs Ford. We will learn lots of exciting things in Primary One based around our topics; Houses and Homes, Celebrations, Animal crackers and Down into the Woods. We will learn about our topics through exploring the playroom and our outdoor quad.
