We are nestled in beautiful countryside not far from Castlerock, with stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean. Our school provides a happy, caring and child-centred learning environment where all pupils can reach their full potential. We are a school with a long tradition of educating children from different faiths.
We work in close partnership with our pupils, parents, governors, parish and local community. This is an exciting time for our school as we prepare to celebrate 150 years of educating children. I encourage you to make an appointment to visit our school so that you can experience at first hand the warm, friendly atmosphere that exists in Ballyhackett P.S.

It is our vision that Ballyhackett Primary School is a place where everyone experiences a sense of belonging to the school family. We are committed to providing a safe, child-centred, high quality learning environment in which pupils are motivated, challenged and supported so that they can become lifelong learners.
School uniform is compulsory so we expect all our children to wear it throughout the whole school year. We have tried to make it as comfortable and practical as possible. Some families are entitled to a clothing allowance to help cover the cost of school uniform. Further information can be obtained from the school.
Please ensure that your child arrives on time. He/she should not arrive before 8.30am as there may not be anyone available to supervise. All children should be collected punctually at the end of the school day. Reception children should be collected at the classroom door. For the other children, parents should collect them from the school playground.
Ballyhackett Primary School is an ECO School. The ECO School Programme is a pupil led initiative and it makes environmental initiatives and awareness an intrinsic part of school life at Ballyhackett P.S. All classes are actively involved and children are made aware of environmental issues.
Children are especially busy on 'Green Day' as they have a key focus upon one environmental issue ranging from renewable energy sources to reduce, reuse, recycle. At Ballyhackett P.S we have an enthusiastic Eco Committee. The Eco Committee is made up of boys and girls from P4 to P7.

Report
We couldn't be happier with the stellar education, child-centred ethos, family-like caring atmosphere and real sense of pride and responsibility our children have gained from Ballyhackett P.S. The ratio of teacher and assistants to pupils means each and every child is well known and their specific needs attended to. The beautiful setting with views over the sea and Mussenden Temple when outside makes a great space to play. Five children of ours have been or are currently pupils at Ballyhackett and the staff are continuously offering more to what has always been, for us, a fantastic place for a
