Damhead is a bright and welcoming environment where expectations are high for all our children. We have a dedicated staff who care for each individual child, encouraging every pupil to reach their full potential. The family atmosphere in the school promotes a sense of well-being, where relationships between staff, pupils and parents are valued and everyone's opinion is important.

As well as our Breakfast and After School club, we have an Eco Club which is committed to playing our part in the very real problems facing our environment. Find information regarding after school activities, the hop club (After school club), lunch, school expenses, bus information and more. Access the Kids Fun LEarning Zone with the StudyLadder, Oxford Reading Owl and Moneyville!
Services
We have one class of each year group and currently employ 9 teachers and 9 Classroom Assistants. Every class currently has a full time classroom assistant. We have a very child centred approach where 'children come first' and we are dedicated to ensuring that all aspects of learning have the children's needs and interests at the centre.
Compiled by Ivor Hutchinson (former teacher) and have been reproduced here with his kind permission. Damhead Primary School was established in 1797 and is situated on the Damhead Crossroads, just off the main Coleraine to Ballymoney Road, 2 miles from Coleraine. It nestles against quiet, rich countryside and is yet convenient to several residential areas.
Here at Damhead we are committed to playing our part in the very real problems facing our environment. Together with the whole school, our Eco Schools Team (see above) are working tirelessly to make change. The Eco-Schools Programme is the world's largest Environmental Education programme and aims to make environmental awareness and action an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of a school.
Damhead Primary School is committed to the pursuit of excellence in a welcoming and caring environment. We seek high standards of achievement for our children both inside and outside the classroom, and high standards of professionalism from our staff. At Damhead Primary School we are committed to developing an ethos where a safe, secure, happy and stimulating learning environment is provided.
Children who represent the school at outside events will be asked to wear a white shirt and school tie. P1-P3- require black PE shoes (these should be named and sent to school where they are kept). P4-7- require school polo shirt, school jumber/cardigan and black, grey or navy leggings/shorts/tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
