Carnalridge Primary School
On behalf of the pupils, staff and Board of Governors of Carnalridge Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our website. We hope it will give you a glimpse into the life of our school. We are currently working on our Outdoor Structured Play area for Foundation Stage. We have been delighted to receive fantastic donations of a mud kitchen from David Kyle and a mud kitchen and role play shop from Glenn at Macaulay Wray Solicitors.

We also recently received cable reels turned into table tops for the children from Kyle Dallas Construction. They are fantastic! This prospectus will give you a flavour of what life is like in Carnalridge Primary School. Should you wish to find out more, please use our contact form or ring the school to speak to Mr Montgomery.
Services
As a caring, friendly school, Carnalridge develops the individual so that everyone can achieve their potential, whilst understanding the need to develop skills for our changing world. Carnalridge enjoys strong links with the community, frequently participating in inter-school and community events. Representatives from community organisations are involved in creating awareness of the wider environment and ministers from local churches.
As a caring, friendly school Carnalridge develops the individual so that everyone can achieve their potential whilst understanding the need to develop skills for our changing world. We believe that children have the right to the best possible education and that education is the development of the whole person, socially, culturally, morally, spiritually and academically.
Carnalridge Primary School was established in Portrush in 1850 and has steadily grown to what it is now. The original school building was developed and added to until in 2008 a beautiful new school was completed and we said goodbye to the old building. Carnalridge Primary places a strong emphasis on the individual needs of each pupil.
Every year our children have the opportunity to vote for their candidates to be on the school council. The council is the voice of the children and is made up of 2 children from each class (Year 4-7). They meet once a month with Mrs Thorne to discuss issues which are important to the children. Children are able to bring concerns to their class reps, who then raise the issue at the monthly council meeting.
PTA is a great way to bring together parents, teachers and others to raise money and to support the school. Carnalridge PS PTA provides an opportunity for everyone to work together towards a common goal and is open to all parents even if they only have a small amount of time available to get involved.
