Services
Together as a school family, we are committed to nurturing and motivating our children, enabling them to reach their full potential and shine- today and in the years ahead! At Macosquin the pupils are at the heart of our school. Our team of dedicated staff provide a positive, caring and child centred environment which recognises uniqueness and celebrates success in every child.
The school governors meet regularly to discuss and make decisions on budgeting, staffing and curriculum issues. Our new Accelerated Reader Programme is now up and running in the Year 6 & 7 classes and pupils are really enjoying their visits to the new AR library each week. Many new books have been purchased through the Scholastic Rewards scheme, which is directly related to the Book Fairs held in school each year.
The Pastoral Care dimension of our school is of paramount importance and involves all children and adults who participate in the daily life of the school. As a team, we place strong emphasis upon creating a supportive atmosphere where all children are encouraged to strive to achieve their personal, social and academic goals.
At Macosquin Primary School we want every child to achieve their full potential. There are many children that benefit from a range of Literacy and Numeracy Learning Support Programmes within our school which ensure they do just that. These programmes may take place within the classroom or during short periods when pupils are withdrawn from class, enabling them to have more individual/small group teaching.
The school is very proud of its orchestra comprising a range of stringed, woodwind and percussion instruments. Orchestra provides pupils with a wonderful opportunity to make music together and to work effectively as a team. Every class receives a timetabled music lesson once a week from our specialist Music teachers.
