We are open 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday throughout the year excluding Bank Holidays for all children aged 3 months to 11 years. Welcome to our website. Longwood is family run, with the business established in 1978. We are close to Bushey and Watford. Mrs Satoula Livesey, a maintained school headteacher, set up a number of day nurseries and playgroups in various locations in Bedfordshire and Middlesex in the late 1970's.
At that time, there was little provision for such care and it was her drive and determination that saw Longwood and Rainbow Schools and Nurseries grow under her leadership. We have come a long way since then and continue to thrive having consolidated to Bushey with some key staff to one nursery, under the management of Miss Alison Lapihuska and a main school, under the leadership of our headteacher, Mrs Claire May.

My eldest daughter went to Longwood and is now in year 8 at her grammar school of choice, and my son currently studies there. It is a nurturing school with a family atmosphere. My daughter loved every minute of her time there and Longwood has given her a strong work ethic and that has meant that she started her new school with flying colours. It has been amazing to see both children flourish and increase in confidence at the school. All the staff at Longwood are very caring and I have seen that instilled in my children. I can't recommend it enough.

Have had my 2 children at the nursery and school from the age of 1 and always feel so lucky to have found this school. With a firm focus on education Longwood school also provides a safe, nurturing happy environment which allows children to be themselves and thrive. The friendly and approachable manner of the school has always assured me that should there be an issue as well, there would be no hesitation in finding the solution immediately - luckily for me such a scenario has never occurred. Thank you Longwood!!

My daughter has been at Longwood since she was 7 months, she's now nearly turning 2. We've had an amazing experience watching her grow as she develops her understanding and Character, largely down to the amazing staff at Longwood, the love and care that they give her is incredible. She amazes us daily with the new things she learns. She simply loves being there and I love knowing how well cared for she is.

My granddaughter left Longwood School this year, passing the entrance tests and moving to a Grammar school of her choice. Longwood is a friendly family school with small class sizes; this helped give her confidence and enthusiasm, and a good measure of self-independence. Longwood provided a strong academic base to work from and generated a genuine interest in language, music, art, netball and swimming. This school suited us in many ways and I would definitely recommend a viewing!

Our son joined Longwood later than most, having moved from a state school system which was not set up to deal with a pupil who was deemed difficult to suppress. Immediately upon arrival at Longwood he was made to feel very welcome and thrived in an environment which allows pupils to move at a pace educationally speaking, in line with their ability and thirst for knowledge at any given point. The feel of the school harnessed together with the smaller size means that most of the kids not only know one another but are closer as a result. Our experience at the end of the last academic year was so positive

Longwood School is an outstanding School/Nursery. My children have been attending the school since a very young age. We have found that it has an excellent environment for learning. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they go above and beyond their teaching responsibilities to ensure individual happiness for each child.
The staff who work tirelessly to ensure all pupils are cared for, encouraged and given every opportunity to excel to their full potential and beyond in all things intellectual, social, physical.

My son and daughter attend Longwood's school and nursery, respectively. Both have done wonders for the two. The amazing staff and small class sizes have been monumental in nurturing my shy son and helping him gain confidence, nursery through to school. He loves going to school and is thriving in his environment. My daughter settled into nursery quickly at 14 months and is now 2 years old. She is extremely happy and excited to go to nursery.
