Rickmansworth Nursery School has been established for over 30 years and serves families from the surrounding area. It is situated in Scotsbridge Pavilion which backs onto Scotsbridge playing fields and the Chess valley. At Rickmansworth Nursery School we believe in the importance of play, both indoors and outdoors, in young children's learning.
We support and uphold the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in believing that the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning. We aim to have a balance of adult led activities and children's self chosen play to promote this learning through sustained thinking and conversation.

Services
The nursery is open during school term time from 9 am - 3 pm Monday to Thursday and 9 am - 12 noon Friday. Rickmansworth Nursery School is run as a private, non-profit making charitable trust (the Rickmansworth Nursery School Association). As a parent, with a child/ren currently attending the school, you automatically become a member of the association.
The nursery staff plan the daily, weekly and termly activities carefully and thoroughly to meet the needs and interests of all the children who attend the setting. We generally have a half termly area of interest that gives a flavour to the displays and some of the activities. Children are offered a wide range of experiences and activities, both inside and outside, throughout the year.
Children are usually admitted to the nursery in the term of their third birthday when they are at least 2 years 9 months old. The majority of children are admitted in the Autumn Term with a few children starting in the Spring Term. We do not offer places starting in the Summer Term as it is not financially sustainable for the nursery to leave sessions empty for the Autumn and Spring terms.
The Committee of Rickmansworth Nursery School may increase the fees at the beginning of the school year each September. This year they have decided to increase the hourly rate to 6.50. All children who are over three qualify for the Government funding of 15 hours free each nursery week. This funding becomes available in the term after the child's 3rd birthday.
