To give us time to process your prescription, please allow 48 hours (2 working days) from receipt of your request. All patients at Montague Medical Practice are registered to the practice, not to an individual GP and this will remain unchanged.
All GP surgeries are now required to provide all their patients with a named accountable GP, who will have responsibility for the coordination of a patient's overall care and support that we provide to you should the need arise. Please be aware this does not mean you will always see this GP, you are still able to see any GP at the practice and the actual care you receive can be provided by any GP or a member of our nursing team when appropriate.

Services
The role of the practice nurse has expanded greatly over the years and in addition to the traditional nursing duties our staff are trained in health education, disease prevention and management of chronic illnesses such as asthma and diabetes. An increasing part of your routine healthcare will be provided by the practice nurses.
The out-of-hours period is from 6.00pm to 8am on weekdays and all day at weekends and on bank holidays. If you require urgent medical assistance which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens you should call 111. These calls are free from both landlines and mobiles. To continue to provide you with the levels of service you receive, doctors, nurses and staff must keep up to date with the latest developments within general practice.
The nursing service is available by appointment for dressings, ear syringing and other treatments as requested by your doctor. The practice offers a full range of family planning and contraceptive advice including the fitting of coils (IUCDs) and Nexaplanon, prescribing the oral contraceptive pill and advice regarding various other methods of contraception.
There will no longer be any appointments available for booking in advance. You will need to contact the surgery between 8.00am and 11.00am on the day you wish to be seen, whether this is for an urgent or a routine matter. You will be asked by the receptionist to provide a brief indication of why you are calling.
Post your request to us - if you would like your prescription posted back to you, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope. Patients registered for online services will be able to order repeat prescriptions online via SystmOnline.

Had an appointment with the practice physio Qaiser Chishty for a back problem. Got my appointment the same day, and what a lovely man he is, smiling and reassuring. This man has healing hands!! I could hardly stand up straight when I went in and I practically skipped out. Everyone I dealt with was so helpful and friendly. Thank you!

I have been registered at this practice for the past 21 years and have seen many doctors and receptionists come and go. Not once have I met with any unprofessionalism or rudeness, and as the first point of call, every receptionist has been both polite and helpful each time I have called the surgery. I am grateful to each and every member of staff for all their hard work and dedication to helping their patients.

One or two of the receptionists are very rude I would suggest that they attend a customer service course, but having said that there are helpful ones there who do have the right attitude and manners to deal with customers. There is one receptionist there that is terrible to talk to and deal with don’t know how she has kept her job the way I’ve seen her deal with patients someone else must have complained about her I do know her name but I won’t post it on here but if she reads this she will know who she is .
