Hatchlands Primary School
Our curriculum drivers aim to broaden the horizons of our children and link to our school's value of Compassion, Courage, Responsibility and Respect. We broaden horizons by developing global learners and planning opportunities for children to be aware of the wider world and its current issues.

Our aim is for our children to understand and respect cultural diversity and differences with an understanding of how the world works and encourage participation in the community at a range of levels, from the local to the global. We teach our children to make the world a more sustainable place and to take responsibility for their actions.

I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of such an exciting, innovative and uniquely nurturing school. It is with confidence that I can say the children are at the heart of everything we do and our school is a place that is committed to inspiring children's hearts and minds.

Our school motto is 'Inspiring Extraordinary Achievements in Every Child' as we all believe that instilling a love of learning and developing different learning skills is vital in preparing children for their future lives. We want our children to leave Hatchlands as confident and highly motivated, independent learners who are caring and positive citizens.
At Hatchlands Primary School, we passionately believe that children's learning should be based around their interests so our highly-skilled teaching team plan creative learning opportunities to inspire and enthuse our children. The curriculum belongs to the children and it is our job as practitioners to help shape the learning experiences around themes that excite them and lead to the children challenging themselves in their learning.
Pupils in Key Stage 1 can now access their home learning in Google Classroom - a digital learning platform created by Google. In the event of a year group bubble being closed or a national lockdown and pupils being sent home, remote learning resources, pre-recorded videos and live Google Meets will also be accessible through Google Classroom.
The Pupil Premium Grant is funding provided to the school to directly benefit children from low-income families. Please see the document below for details of how we intend to spend our Pupil Premium funding along with an evaluation of the impact of last year's plan. The information below gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we can allocate the funding we receive.
The Sports Premium is an amount of money allocated to schools to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.
