Learning about history topics in primary school can be inspirational and immense fun. Children are inspired to research events, they love thinking about people of the past, and especially enjoy all the bits that are gory, nasty or just plain mad (that's why Horrible Histories is so popular)!
It is also fantastic for using so many English, ICT, Art and collaborative skills that we just cannot ignore the wonderful advantages of learning about the past.History in the National Curriculum can be summed up in just a few statements: ordering events in time; finding differences and similarities; writing and talking about the past; using different sources for information; asking and answering questions.

Parents and carers are some of the most important people in a child's life and we are committed to working together with them to ensure that every child achieves the best possible education. Our school motto of: 'A Journey to Excellence' is at the heart of everything we do in school and together with parents, carers, governors and the local community, each and every child is encouraged to follow this principle.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor. The Governing Body play a key role in helping Audley Primary School provide the best possible education for all its pupils.
It works in the background, leaving day to day running of the school to the Headteacher and staff, and is accountable to parents and the wider community to ensure that standards are the highest quality. The Full Governing Body meets once each half term. The Resources committee meets each term, Joint Chairs of governing body are Kerry Clayton and Bindu Santhosh.

The headteacher has successfully strengthened both senior and middle leadership and created a new team of increasingly effective subject leaders. Capable senior leaders provide helpful support and training to colleagues new to subject leadership. The leadership team has ensured that all safeguarding arrangements are fit for purpose.
Our school believes that all children need opportunities to play which allow them to explore, manipulate, experience and affect their environment. The school acknowledges the UN Charter on the Rights of the Child, especially Article 31, and supports the child's right to play. We believe play provision should be: welcoming, enjoyable and accessible to every child.
At Audley Primary School we have UNICEF ambassadors, who work hard to help others in the school learn all about the important work of UNICEF. The UNICEF ambassadors have now been appointed and are busy completing a number of tasks throughout the school year. Audley Primary School is proud to be part of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child, where every child is valued, cared for and developed to their full potential.
