Services
Good Shepherd School is a part of the Catholic Community of New Addington, Croydon. It exists to promote the love of God and the teachings of Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Being a welcoming school where our children, parents, staff and the wider community are valued and cared for in safe, stimulating environment.
During the last war, Croydon Council made the decision to extend the Boots Estate at New Addington to re-house those people who had lost their homes as a result of the war. It was also an opportunity to help those who were living in sub-standard homes in Croydon. As the Estate was being developed, the Southwark Diocesan Schools Commission was approached about building a Primary School for Catholic children on the new estate.
Any child who has a special need will be provided with support in order to have access to the National Curriculum. Teaching assistants support and work with children with special needs. Individual education plans (IEP) target specific areas for learning and progress is monitored on a regular basis.
The Pupil Premium is allocated to pupils from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for free school meals (FSM). The premium is provided in order to support these pupils in reaching their potential. The Government have deployed a fixed amount of money to schools per pupil, based on the number of pupils registered for free school meals.
The school has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the physical and emotional welfare of children. We have a duty to act upon any evidence that suggests that a child has been maltreated. In the interests of the child we are obliged to refer all matters to the social services department, who will follow up our concerns.

I've taught here twice, and if I lived closer, I would apply for a job and have my kids come here. Wonderful staff, children and facilities..
