Granton Primary School is committed to providing a secure environment for pupils, where children feel safe and are kept safe. All adults at Granton Primary School know that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility irrespective of the role they undertake or whether their role has direct contact or responsibility for children.
The pupils of Granton Primary School are separated into 4 'houses': Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Pupils are awarded 'house points' for their successes, good behaviour and manners. Each week the 'house points' are totalled and the winning 'house' celebrated in the Friday Achievement Assembly. Each 'house' has two house captains, a boy and a girl from Year 6.
The Rights Respecting School promotes the UN convention on the rights of the child. This is an integral part of Granton's ethos and vision statement. RRS supports children in becoming global citizens and supports our belief that children achieve most when they feel included and valued. We want children at Grantn to learn about their rights and feel empowered about their education.
