Services
Their mission is to 'Feed Hungry Minds' through serving lunches which are healthy, delicious and offer great value and choice. All dishes on the menus are free from undesirable food additives and hydrogenated fats and do not include any GM ingredients. ISS works with parents, guardians, schoolteachers and pupil councils to develop their menus and ensure each day offers tasty and nutritious meal options.
We have a very well established and experienced Governing Body at Walnut Tree Walk. The role of the governing body is to provide strategic management, and to act as a "critical friend", supporting the work of the headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and other staff. Wilf has been a governor at WTW for over 15 years, and has been Chair for 11 years.
We are very proud of the progress each and every child makes during their time at Walnut Tree Walk. Children make excellent progress from the time they enter Nursery or Reception to the time the leave Year 6, with our progress scores in 2019 being significantly above the national average in all subjects.
Schools receive a Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) funding of 1,320 per pupil which is for educational provision within the school. Money is allocated to the school for children whose families have registered for Free School Meals (FSM). This includes any child that has been registered for FSM at any stage during the last six years.
The PE and Sports Premium must be used to fund improvements to the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of pupils to give them the opportunity to develop their PE skills and lead a healthy lifestyle. Allocations for the academic year are calculated using the number of pupils in years 1 to 6 as recorded on the January census.
