The highest pub in the Brecon Beacons National Park, a Country Inn with plenty of accommodation, b&b rooms, bunkhouses glamping and a campsite. A fine selection of local real ales available, and food orders are taken 6 pm till 9pm in the evening. The initial greeting of "we don't stand on ceremony here" makes you feel welcome and sets you up for a pub stay that is relaxed and fun.
If you are fortunate to be there on a Friday or Saturday make sure you dine at the pub. Good food and good fun. After breakfast take the path that leads up to the Iron Age fort above the pub. Well worth it. Just spent a fantastic weekend at the Dragons Back pub. Third time visiting and it never disappoints.

Fantastic location. Cosy stay in the Shepherd's hut with a wonderful view of the Black Mountains. The birds were fantastic to watch in the morning.
Warm and has a kettle and heater just in case. Clean shower and toilet that was for our sole use attached to the kitchen a short walk from the hut. Take a torch for night time.
Good kitchen, functional and did the job for our 3 night stay.
The WiFi/phone is limited here so that helps if you're wanting to disconnect from things and really relax and enjoy nature.
The pub was closed on the Saturday we arrived and during our 3 night stay. It would have

Just got back from my brothers stag staying here for 2 nights as a group of 16. Had an amazing time, the landlord and staff we're so funny, friendly and helpful. Good selection of beers and drinks and the food was perfect pub food, Steaks and pies we're delicious. Nice cozy, pub with enough space for groups in the back and a pool table that got used a lot! The accommodation is simple but all we needed as we were up late and up early but comfortable and clean with nice hot showers and a good breakfast.
Lots of good walks right on the doorsteps with incredible views and the Black mountain Activity
