We are an NHS practice based in the North Yorkshire town of Leyburn. We provide the full range of services expected from a GP practice including specialist clinics in COPD/asthma, monitoring for diabetes, heart disease and hypertension, family planning and much more. All of our doctors are partners in the Practice which is an unlimited partnership.
Every patient (including children) is allocated a named GP who will take lead responsibility for the co-ordination of their general practice healthcare services. Normally this will be the GP under whom you are registered or the GP that you usually see, but if you have a particular preference then please contact us to let us know.

Services
All consultations with doctors and nurses are by appointment only, though accidents and emergencies will be dealt with as and when they arise. Doctors' morning surgeries are from 9.00am to 12.00pm and routine afternoon surgeries are held from 3.00pm until 5.00pm. Our evening surgeries are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm to 7.15pm and are for pre-booked GP and nurse appointments.
Although you may be registered with a particular doctor you can make appointments to see any doctor of your choice, though you may not always get an appointment with that doctor at short notice. You will be able to see the on-call doctor for an urgent problem within 24 hours, but if you want to see a particular doctor, you will be offered the next available appointment with that doctor.
The practice takes zero tolerance very seriously if a member of staff is treated in an abusive or violent way. The practice supports the government's Zero Tolerance campaign for health service staff. This states that GPs and their staff have a right to care for others without fear of being attacked or abused.
We are constantly looking at how we can improve services to patients within the resources we have. If you have any thoughts on what would make a difference we would be interested to hear your views. Safeguarding simply means keeping people safe from harm. It is about protecting children and adults from abuse or neglect.
To help our patients manage their healthcare we offer online accounts via SystmOnline. Users must register for an online account and can then log in to access services via the internet. You can book appointments online up to eight weeks in advance, although please note that at any one time there may be only four weeks of appointments available.
