Our patient care advisors can give you further information, they are trained care navigators and have completed courses in medical terminology. We also have patient care advisors who specialise in repeat prescribing. Patients at Blacketts are given a named GP who is responsible for your overall care at the practice.

Please contact the practice if you wish to know who this is. We will make every effort possible to allow a preference in your named GP, but this is not always possible due to fairness in the GP workload. We know that patients value continuity of care and we would encourage patients to see the same doctor if possible.

Very mixed feelings about this practice. They have been fab with my children but my last appt I turned up and the receptionist had told me the WRONG day and was a total waste of my time and the next time I was made to wait 40 minutes to see the doctor while he saw another patient first who turned up 15 minutes late for their appt (5 minutes after me when his appt was before mine!)Poor communication between reception and GP. They should have seen me first and turned the other gentleman away if no time to see him. Inconsiderate and another total waste of my time.

So I've never used this place for myself, but this is my experiance with the practice for my daughter. Firstly the doctor she saw was fantastic she was really nice and spoke to my daughter really nicely.
The pharmacy side of things though is horrendous so far. Orders weren't ready. It's open at terrible times. And then it finally is open and thier is no pharmacist? That side of things definitely needs managing better. Also despite being advertised its open on Saturdays when we rang to get a prescription collected we were told they weren't open and that was 10am.

I was seriously ill for several months, four doctors at Blacketts told me that I had flu, I ended up going to A&E at the local hospital instead. Finally after two months I was referred to a specialist whom diagnosed my illness. I then spent a considerable length of time in hospital. Thankfully I have recovered, but the length in diagnosis could have caused me serious damage.

At the very start of my rheumatic illness the doctors, receptionists and manager at this surgery ALL treated me terribly. Many times I was basically told that my symptoms were in my head and that I was "too young" for certain illnesses (even though they run in my family). I was made to feel like a drug seeker for needing pain relief. I could go on! One time when I was experiencing frightening new symptoms the doctor point blank refused to help me at all and wouldn't say why! I walked out the building in tears. I felt so alone and so afraid. I changed surgeries soon after and honestly, it was a

Refused to register me unless I provided photographic ID even though I’d previously been registered as a child! I’m epileptic and my old doctor explained it would be unethical for him to prescribe my medication anymore as I’m in a different town now. I had to go a week without my medication which resulted in a severe seizure. That then lead to Todd’s paralysis then a mini stroke! Disgraceful surgery! 😠

A very positive experience. We got an appointment with our requested doctor in just over a week. The appointment was on time, the doctor was concerned and took the time to listen to the problem and talk about it. We received two follow up appointments within the next week. Very professional and helpful - highly recommend.

Discontinued all of my repeat prescriptions when i joined then said the earliest appointment to get reviewed and have them put back on my record was nearly a month away, leaving me without inhalers.
They also seem to be "closed for training" more often than they are open, then when you do get an appointment its often up to an hour late by the time you see the doctor.

I find the staff helpful and friendly. The nurses are very good, sympathetic and efficient. I have never had a problem gaining an appointment in reasonable time.
