Our practice serves the two dales of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale, caring for over 1600 patients in an area of 200 square miles. We are a small, friendly practice and our aim is to provide a personalised service in an efficient and professional manner. Despite our size, we provide all the medicines for our patients and host physiotherapy, podiatry, and child health visitor services on site.
We also provide a minor injury service, minor surgery and respond to emergencies on behalf of the ambulance service.

Services
The practice area covers a large portion of the northern Dales stretching from the Cumbrian border in the west towards Richmond in the east. As you can see below, the majority of our patients are in the older age ranges. Over 30% of our patients are over the age of 65 years, which is well above the national average.
This practice is delighted to be signed up to the Green Impact for Health Toolkit and is actively taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint. The climate emergency is also a health emergency, and health care in the UK contributes 5.4% of the UK's carbon emissions. We need to enhance the health of our current population without compromising the health of future generations, and this means operating within the sustainable boundaries of the planet.
During the course of the consultation, the doctor may need to perform an intimate examination. Our policy is to offer our patients the option of a chaperone during the procedure or examination. Our chaperones are specifically trained for the role. They are familiar with the procedures involved during the examination, sensitive to patient confidentiality and also are prepared to raise concerns should misconduct occur.
Please call 01748 884 396 and select option 1. A message can be left on the answering machine at any time and it is checked periodically during the day (Monday to Friday). Please drop off your repeat slip in the green post box just inside the surgery or post your slip to the practice. Please allow two working days to process your request as some medication needs to be specially ordered from our suppliers.
What will happen if a GP or other member of staff at the practice is worried that a child or adult is being abused or neglected? Where can you get help if you are worried that you or someone else is suffering abuse or neglect? Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. Here at Reeth Medical Centre, all staff members play a role in safeguarding.

Probably the best doctors I have and will ever use. From the warm greeting off Marge (in charge) as you walk in, right through Dr Brook's experienced diagnoses to receiving your prescription from the lovely dispensary girls. Its a wonderful service dealt with in a very friendly but professional way. thank you all.
