Our aim at Lord Street Primary School is to encourage children to become historians for life by developing an appreciation and understanding of the past. We want our children to develop skills which build over time to help them expand their knowledge of history. We believe that high quality history lessons inspire children to want to know more about the past and its influence on the world of today.
We want our children to have a clear historical perspective on key events and people from their local community, the region, the country and the world and to be able to sue this knowledge to understand why people behaved in the way they did and how it might affect the world today and its choices. We want our history curriculum to be accessible for all, and in turn maximise outcomes for each child.

At Lord Street Primary School, we want to create an environment that is safe, where everyone feels respected and where pupils come into each lesson ready to engage in learning.
All adults in school know that 'when the adult changes, everything changes, ' (Paul Dix), so you will see adults that demonstrate: Calmness, humour, empathy, consistency, reflective practice, catching pupils being positive, recognise and praise good conduct publicly, confident with a smile, staff aiming for win/win situations, de-escalation.We reward positive behaviour and achievement; we teach positive behaviour for learning.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils attending Lord Street and this requires all staff and visitors to share this commitment. Lord Street Primary School recognises that high self-esteem, confidence, peer support and clear lines of communication with trusted adults helps all children, especially those at risk of, or suffering abuse.
In this section of our website you will find all of our key SEND documents. A good starting point would be our latest 'SEND Information Report' which will hopefully answer many of your questions regarding our SEND provision. The Special Education Needs and Disability Information Report 2020 is a statutory document required of all state maintained schools and academies.

I went to lord street up until year five and had to move due to different reasons and I can safely say that it was the best experience of my life. I was was there for six years and I loved every minute of it. I understand that at times it hasn't had the best ofsted reports. But trust you will not find a more welcoming and lovely school. Don't judge it before you have gone in met the teachers and children. A truly amazing schoolππ
