Sacred Heart School is situated on the edge of Colne and is within easy access of Foulridge, Barrowford, Trawden and Blacko. We are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful countryside and have extensive school grounds comprising of a large grass playing field, three playgrounds, two conservation areas and a Forest School.

Our Foundation Stage children also enjoy a bright and stimulating enclosed playground of their own with a covered hard-play and grassed area. Sacred Heart is a fantastic school and our examination results are testament to everyone's hard work and dedication. We are a very happy and welcoming school with a 'family feel' and strong sense of faith and community.
Services
As a Roman Catholic School, our faith is central to everything that takes place in Sacred Heart RC Primary. The Religious Education of our pupils is the core of the Core Curriculum; the practice and teaching of the Catholic Faith is central. Our Faith is not just something added on to everything else we do as a School, but runs through all our learning.
Our school belongs to the Parish of the Good Shepherd. In 2010 the parishes of Holy Saviour (Nelson), Sacred Heart (Colne) and SS Peter & Paul (Barrowford), were joined together to form this unique parish. Our thriving parish incorporates three schools; two primary schools, Holy Saviour and Sacred Heart and our feeder high school SS John Fisher & Thomas More Humanities College.
Sacred Heart has a dedicated team of 10 Pupil Gift Team who have a vital role to play in enhancing the Religious Life of our school. Each member has to apply for this important job and is interviewed for the role. Our Pupil Gift Team are easily identified in school by their special Gift Team jumper.
We think it's important to give the children opportunities to have leadership roles in school. We like to ensure that the children have a voice in decisions that are made as well as developing ideas to move parts of the school forward. As well as our Gift Team, Sports Leaders, School Council and Librarians we also have a number of other jobs that children can aspire to.
School Councils are democracy in action. The School Council of Sacred Heart consists of two representatives of each class, from Reception to Year 6. The Council meets frequently, at least once every half-term, to express views and make decisions. Staff are always keen to know the views of our pupils.
