St Andrew's C Of E Primary School

Our school is a happy, welcoming place. Our staff are highly skilled, enthusiastic and all put the needs of our children at the forefront of their daily work. Everyone at St. Andrew's is encouraged to show respect, to always strive to do their best and to treat others as they would wish to be treated themselves.

During the current pandemic, we are unable to welcome prospective parents into our school. We understand that choosing a school for your child is a huge decision and that you will want to find out as much about our school as possible. We have completed the film of our virtual tour - and the year 6 ambassadors have added their thoughts about St Andrew's too, they were also invaluable in putting the video together.

St. Andrews Church is situated on the edge of the village in Vicarage Lane West. It was built as long ago as 1330 on the site of a former church, and exists to serve the Parish of North Weald, which today includes Hastingwood and Thornwood. We are part of the Diocese of Chelmsford in the Church of England.

At St Andrew's we recognise the diverse world that our children will grow up in and as such we ensure that the development of British Values is embedded in daily life in our school. We encourage respect for democracy and how the democratic process in Great Britain impacts on how laws are made and applied.

The Partnership will use our combined skills, knowledge, expertise and experience to drive forward school improvement and raise standards and outcomes for pupils, whilst respecting each school's culture, ethos, values and identity. The Partnership will share best practice and key strengths both within and beyond the group to help facilitate support, development and improvement.
