St Matthew's is a small one form entry Church of England primary school of 210 children located in Ponders End, Enfield. We are passionate about achieving the best for our children and endeavour to create a safe and happy place for them to learn in. We do fun activities but our learning is the most important thing to us.
Our Staff and Governors are devoted to raising standards and ensuring that each child's education is fulfilled to its maximum. A SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) is an inspection with the principal objective being to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of a Church school.

Such a large crowd of witnesses is all around us! So we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won't let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us. We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete.

St Matthew's is a Voluntary Aided Church of England School. This means that it is a part of the Christian Family of the Diocese of London, and receives support and resources from the London Diocesan Board of Schools, in addition to the support and resources that it receives, like every other school in the Borough, from the Local Education Authority.
The St Matthew's PTA is set up to provide fundraising support by organising a number of events throughout the year. Every parent and carer of a child attending the school is automatically a member of the PTA, as are all the teaching and non-teaching staff at the school. There is a working committee who help organise and run these events.
The Government is providing additional funding of 150 million per annum for academic years 2013 to 2014 and 2014 to 2015 to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport - will be allocated to primary school headteachers.
We ask that all uniform is clearly labelled with your child's name. This makes is easier for us to reunite any lost uniform to the child. Our fundraising number to quote on any order is: 21070. The school gets commission for every order placed. Children should wear grey trousers, skirts, shorts or a pinafore with black, grey or white socks and suitable black shoes (no trainers or sandals).
