On behalf of the staff, pupils and Governing Body, I am delighted to welcome you to Moreton Church of England Primary School. We are a one-form entry village school set in rural surroundings approximately two miles from Ongar. Moreton has a reputation for being a friendly open and caring school and our Christian Distinctiveness is very important to us.

At Moreton C of E School our vision is to provide a caring, supportive and stimulating environment within the context of a Christian community in which pupils can learn and become responsible, confident and independent members of this community. We aim to provide high quality learning so that pupils are able to fulfil their own aspirations for the future and be ready for the next stage of their education.
Our vision is based on the fact that we are all created in God's image, blessed with the power and wisdom to pursue excellence. Therefore, as a tree is recognised by its fruit, so our children will be recognised by the good they do in our world as they grow together in faith, knowledge and love.
This reflects the biblical texts of Matthew 12:33 and Colossians 1:10-11 which encompasses our belief that each child is like a seed which when nurtured will grow into knowing and loving God.Our children will aspire to be inquisitive and creative learners who fulfil their potential with a love and passion to do God's work.

Our school's catchment area extends from Stanford Rivers and Toot Hill in the south up to Magdalene Laver in the north, also taking in High Laver and, of course, Moreton. However, children travel from as far afield as Chipping Ongar, Shelley, Matching and Harlow (some even further!) to come to our school.
Moreton has a caring, friendly, Christian ethos that aims to develop everyone to their full potential. We want to work in partnership with all members of the school community to provide the very best education we can for each of our children; we firmly believe this to be the right of every pupil.

At Moreton C of E Primary School we aim to offer excellence and choice to all our children, whatever their ability or needs. We have high expectations of all our children and we aim to achieve this through the removal of barriers to learning and participation. We want our children to feel that they are a valued part of our school community.
