We are proud of what we are able to offer and would love the opportunity to show you round the practice so you can see the facilities.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
The PHC has been specifically designed to provide the routine veterinary care your pet requires throughout the year. It has been designed in such as way that it not only provides great care, it also allows you to budget for that care in a convenient and affordable way by using monthly direct debit payments.
We've partnered with Video Vets Now so you can speak to a vet from home or out and about - 7 days a week between 8am and 11pm. Consults are 10 mins and cost 24. If your pet needs to be seen by us or Vets Now, your original 24 payment will be refunded. We partnered with Video Vets Now to help you get the advice and reassurance you need, wherever you are.

One star is too high of a rating.
I've called them 4/5 times over the year and have not once been able to get an appointment. Instead they pretend they have time for you and invite you to wait outside, the reality is you'll be in their carpark for 3/4 hours wasting time you could be using going to an emergency vet appointment. We've been waiting on an X-ray for 5 weeks and the problem is worsening but they don't care at all. Also, NOT ALL but some of the vets are extremely patronising.

Used Carterton vets for 10 years now and they were always great but in the last 18 months they've been awful. Yes with covid things have been hard, but leaving 'emergencies' waiting outside for over 2 hours is inexcusable. If you can't do the job tell people straight out so they don't risk their pets' lives waiting. In the last 2 months it's got worse than ever - staff are rude and dismissive on the phone, and on my most recent call asking about a routine appointment I was told 'We have no vets in next week you'll just have to register somewhere else.' Doesn't exactly inspire confidence! From my

Shocking they would not see my very poorly dog even though we are registered with them. My dog was in extreme distress. I was informed that I could wait outside the vets which could take up to 3 hours and if a vet became free we would be seen...in the end I phoned Jacksons vets who saw my dog immediately. Very disappointing.

I had a dog with a complicated medical history and I was blown away by how helpful, kind, and patient the team was with the treatment. The way they run the surgery is hassle-free and very adaptable to the individual need. Alexis in particular was amazing with my dog and understood the importance of developing a rapport with him in order to examine him. Highly recommend this Surgery if you're looking for a vet in the area.

4 visits over 10 months with my old dog. Made me understand what I was dealing with and all through were professional and had my dogs best at heart. Very kind and sympathetic and dealt with him in a way to maintain his dignity which meant so much to me when we put him to sleep last week. Thank you for all you've done to give my boy the best end of life. I will definitely use your practice in the future.
