The team at Bourton Vale Equine Clinic is made up of Vets, Nurses, Interns, Grooms and Administration staff all dedicated to providing the best possible service for both you and your horse. Our Veterinarian team is made up of fourteen fully qualified vets, who have a variety of interests in all things equine ranging from diagnosis and investigations of performance horses, medicine and dental care, and reproduction.
When required the Vets are supported by one of our Interns or Nurses. The Nurses perform a variety of roles at the Clinic, from assisting in the surgery process, performing the laboratory tests, keeping the equipment the Vets need in good working order, and also run our dispensary to ensure that anything the Vets will need to treat any emergency is available straight away.

The equine vets at Bourton Vale work from a purpose-built clinic, conveniently located between Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. Bourton Vale pride themselves on offering an excellent standard of care to all horses, from Olympic athletes, World Champions and Cheltenham Festival winners, to the smallest pony and donkey.
We have a strong ambulatory team with a wealth of experience and knowledge providing a primary care service to clients throughout Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire.
Our ambulatory vets are fully equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasonography and endoscopy, providing you with the best service possible within the comfort and convenience of your own yard.

Routine visits with BVEC can be booked in advance for our vets to perform a wide range of services from vaccinations, microchipping, basic dentistry and health checks to lameness investigations and diagnostic techniques such as radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and gastroscopy. Routine visits can be booked in advance to take place between 8.30 and 17.00 Monday to Friday.
We operate 24 hour emergency care for our clients within our visit zones. Our main reception is open from 8.00am until 5.00pm Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 12.00noon on Saturday mornings. Should you require our services outside of these hours, please call 01451 820137 and you will hear a message giving you the direct mobile number of the senior vet on duty for that night or weekend.
Vaccinations are an essential part of your horse's health, whether they are for your competition horse or your family friend. It is recommended that they are kept up to date to provide continuous immunity and to comply with Pony Club, Riding Club, British Eventing, British Dressage and BSJA and many other regulatory authority rulings including the BHA and FEI.

Excellent equine hospital. Attended with my horse for a half day of intensive gastrointestinal investigations. Well-equipped and excellent facilities. I was extremely impressed by the competence, professionalism and kindliness of all the nursing and support staff. Good value for money. I would happily drive the extra 90 mins to attend this clinic over Liphook Equine Hospital, Surrey.
