We have been growing ever since and have built a reputation for being friendly and professional, whilst working hard to form an integral part of the community. In addition we reach out to other communities (Botswana, Egypt) to help those who live under difficult circumstances. We want to provide our clients with the information that will help them maintain the health and happiness of their animals.
In order to do so, we will always take time to listen to any questions you may have. In addition, we provide a number of services that are aimed at providing information and help in looking after both sick and healthy pets. Find out more about our services including weight clinics, pet nutrition and puppy parties.

Services
At Cogges Veterinary Surgery we aim to deliver the highest level of healthcare and service to you and your pets. To complement the consultations and surgery provided by our veterinary surgeons, our dedicated team of veterinary nurses run clinics covering various aspects of your pets' healthcare. Many are free of charge to our clients.
Every June we celebrate Rabbit Awareness Week, where we spend time raising the profile of rabbits and helping owners do the very best for their bunnies! How to spot the signs of saltwater poisoning and what to do if your dog drinks sea water when you're at the beach. This May is Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, where we celebrate the hard work of our veterinary nurses.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
As pet owners, we endeavour to make sure that our faithful companions stay fit and healthy, enabling them to live to an old age. Unfortunately, our pets do not live as long as us and at some point, we will have to prepare to let them go. Sadly, few of our pets pass peacefully away in their sleep. Therefore, we all wish to do the right thing at the right time, fulfilling our responsibility and commitment in their final days.
Symptoms of periodontal disease in cats can include yellow and brown tartar build-up along the gum line, red inflamed gums, sneezing and persistent bad breath. Cats get lesions in their teeth similar to caries or holes in humans, called Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions (FORLs). FORLs are the most common tooth disease in domestic cats (according to some papers more than 50% of cats over 3 years old!).

There quick actions saved my dogs life! I rang them after a full day of repeated vomiting and they saw him immediately. Anti sickness injection administered and sent home to monitor but day two, he got worse. Again, the saw him immediately, ran tests and diagnosed pancreatitis and put straight on fluids. They stayed after closing to make sure he was catered for. He was sent to Medivets in Woodstock overnight on there referral. All the staff are a credit to there profession. Thank you.

Positive: Professionalism
Cogges Vets have looked after my pets for over 20 years. They provide a great service and are friendly yet professional. When my elderly cat hurt her leg they were fantastic. They explained everything clearly, including the cost, and luckily made her all better - I was so grateful. Thank you!

We have been with Cogges for 14 yrs with various pets, young and old and every time they have shown great care and compassion. Even when we had rabbits and weren't confident cutting their claws, they took them in and did it for us, no job too small. We have 2 big dogs and two rescue cats now and they see them the same day or next morning. Cant fault this practice. When the time comes to say goodbye in the past, I've been sobbing, they've been superb dealing with me and the animal. That meant so much.
It has changed as all businesses do, it's still nice to see the familiar faces and now new people

Great service from the vets when I rang with a request for an urgent appointment. Although they were fully booked they said to come down and they would see my dog. It turned out she had an eye ulcer which needed urgent treatment which they gave her. Great service and always really pleasant, thanks 😊 x

I have nothing but praise for this practice. Over the 20 years or so that we've been registered, they have consistently offered friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and caring service and advice. Throughout the lives of several pets now, we trust them to support us, at some of our most stressful times. A special mention for the way they have all continued to cope and respond professionally and in a timely way during the pandemic.

I have gone to Cogges for the last seven years and the service has been brilliant. They are super helpful and welcoming and the vets extremely professional. When George ate a full leg of lamb including the bone, and it became stuck they went way above in caring for him over a difficult weekend.
I don't know if by design but is is a majority female staff. Having appointments on Saturday and Sunday is such a bonus.

Hello there, i wish i wrote this review when this event took place but i never did..... it was back in 2018.... Cogges vets had a good reputation (so i had heard) and i suggested my partner to register her dog there. When he first went to the surgery for a check up my partner felt that they were not experienced in larger dog breads and seemed inexperienced with our dogs breed?.
Her dog had to be sedated due to being scared of his yearly injection and check up at Cogges and being a large dog he can be intimidating to non confident staff.... We were told that he would be back with us around lunch
