When people wear the proper glasses they realise they can see more clearly and comfortably. What they may have considered normal and acceptable before is now inferior by comparison. Your eye sight is precious, without it simple day to day activities such as making a cup of tea can become a challenge. Routine eye examinations are vitally important regardless of your age or your physical health. During a comprehensive eye exam, your optometrist does more than just determine your prescription for spectacles or contact lenses.
At Denham Opticians we have invested in a state of the art Retinal Camera, called the DRS, it allows us to instantaneously image the Retina located at the back of the eye. It's the new frontier of non-mydriatic, digital retinal imaging. In other words, we do not need to put any drops into the patient's eyes yet are still able to obtain fantastic photographs.
A private examination costs 30 which includes a retinal scan (see section on retinal photography for more details). We process all the paper work ourselves and would not require anything else from the patient other than the proof of entitlement. We would then be reimbursed by the NHS, so no money between us and the customer would need to take place with respect to the examination.

I am 61 years old and my eyesight is getting worse. I have been to opticians for several decades, but decided to go to an optometrist this time. The service here was beyond amazing and I'm extremely grateful to Mr Rana for his great consultation as I am sure I will get my clear eyesight back with his assistance.
