Thank you -- my partner is still talking about his starter " pork terrine" the best starter he has ever had & he is still trying to work out how to make it! It is so fabulousness when you go out for a meal & as a (relatively) good cook yourselves you feel that was fantastic and we worth every penny - keep going I know times have been tough but you should be immensely proud of what you achieve..

Visiting from the Midlands I came to The Miners last night with my FOD friends. It was very quiet due to COVID which was a shame as they are taking every precaution to keep their customers safe. The food as… usual was fresh hot and delicious. The menu is not vast but what they do they do well. The staff were warm and attentive. The Miners is probably my favourite restaurant in the forest! Thank you Miners for a lovely evening

Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent Covid safety precautions. I’ve always enjoyed the food at the Miners’ and my last visit was no exception. The food is nicely cooked, beautifully presented, and tasty. The ingredients are locally sourced and fresh, and the menu changes every day.

A friend and I had a late Sunday lunch yesterday. Your meat is served on a large board and you carve it yourself. We chose the beef and a generous lump arrived. Very tasty and tender. Red cabbage and white cabbage/carrots were delicious. Sadly the Yorkshire pudding was very overcooked as were my roast potatoes which was disappointing but the presentation was different and the meat great so I did enjoy my meal. We shared cheese and biscuits as it was a very generous portion. Nice family atmosphere too. Most enjoyable afternoon.

I've just come away from The Miners Sling unable to fathom why so many people are eating there.
Starters - small portions, nothing fresh or seasonal about them, not great but still edible 4/10
Main menu choices were hardly seasonal or fresh, We ordered a battered haddock, boar burger, hunters chicken and ravioli. The fish, burger and chicken were… all edible. The "triple cooked chips" that accompanied the mains were barely cooked, dry, clearly out of a freezer and had a funny smell/taste to them. The ravioli was tough and smothered in cream cheese sauce. 2/10

Stayed here with my family and it's a fantastic place. Really friendly and professional staff, really lovely food, breakfast and ales and a really nice, quality and spacious room. Even more impressive is the covid spread mitigation by making sure the eating areas and pub are ventilated properly, with adequate air flow, not over the top but well thought out and actually safe rather than tokenism. I wouldn't definitely recommend this place and will definitely stay here again.

Lovely and welcoming staff. We booked a table which wasn't ready for us when we arrived, but staff seated us at the bar and ordered our drinks and food so we recieved them promptly once our table was ready. Best Sunday lunch we've ever had! Great portion sizes, and a lovely vegetarian option for myself. Also dog friendly in the bar and garden areas, both of which you can order food in. The dessert menu also looked great, but we were so full after our lunch! Would highly recommend - hoping to go back in the week for an afternoon tea!

Incredible food, beer and service! Came on a Thursday afternoon and sat in the garden.
We had 3 starters to share between two, which was enough for a light lunch, and some delicious local ale. Great value for really good quality food. Look forward to coming again when we are next lucky enough to be in the area.
