The Ship
Renowned for its home-cooked food and refreshing cask ales, The Ship is an independently-run public house that has a heritage spanning nearly 250 years. Atmosphere was more than welcoming, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, food was absolutely delicious. We are recommending this pub to our friends and will most surely be making another experience.

The pub is a genuine treasure that dates back to 1762. As a Grade II listed building, it still retains its picture postcard appearance, which is the embodiment of Old English style. This is a pub that has a wealth of character within its old wooden beams. A detailed history of the place is actually unknown and undocumented.

I'd give it more stars if I could. Proper decent. Never been there before, can't wait to go back. The beer was amazing, the environment warm and friendly. Gushing with praise for this place.

Fantastic and atmospheric old inn. A great old building with lots of nooks and crannys and charmingly low ceilings.
The music was a little loud on friday night and not in keeping with the surroundings, but it didnt ruin the experience, but imagine it would be fantastic for a quiet lunch time pint

A pub goers pub, nice wood panelling fireplace etc, friendly staff. Had 2 above average 1/2's of Timothy Taylor Landlord and GK IPA (not usually an ale I'd drink). Could have a slightly more interesting range of ales but as usual i presume it's what they are tied to or can shift.
