Boleyn Tavern
Remarkable Pubs are a group of independently run, traditional pubs based in London. Each pub has been thoughtfully restored or reinvented with inspiration often taken from the Victorian era, with a long time understanding that pubs are places to socialise, hubs for the local community and ultimately a refuge for relaxation, pleasure, company and enjoyment.

All but one of our pubs serves great food made on the premises and there is always a large and interesting array of cellar cooled, hand pumped beers and real ales, fine wines and spirits to choose from. Each and every one of the pubs listed here are looking forward to welcoming you. In 1985 much of the local pub scene in Inner London was fairly lacklustre.
Services
Managing one of our pubs comes with all the perks of running your own business, as well as the support and guidance that comes from being part of a network of thriving pubs. Benefits also include free accommodation, weekly commission, creative input and much more. To be considered for bar staff or kitchen positions, please contact jobs@remarkablepubs.co.uk and we will forward it on to any currently recruiting managers.

Four of us went for a meal. One of us a vegetarian but only bean burger on the menu. We had haddock and chips, burger and chips and two home made steak and stout pies. Everything was over cooked. The pies came with hard mash, burnt un trimmed runner beans, tough old beef and no gravy. The pastry was nice. The haddock was really dark and almost burnt, the fish dry as a bone. We complained and the lady said thanks for letting us know, next time you come in we’ll give you a free drink! Err this is not good enough and we are unlikely to return. The guy serving drinks couldn’t raise a smile and

I wouldn’t even give this place one star.. the food was inedible the taste was just awful, veg was hard, tasted like SICK no wonder no one had more than two mouthfuls of their food..
NOT TO MENTION the 3 hours of waiting for the food to then come out like this.
the rudeness of the manager was just shocking, no negotiation with me and had the cheek to refund everyone (after 4 times speaking to him) expect me!
I would never recommend ever coming to this place and if you do then expect to have the worst experience..
I wish you the absolute best with that attitude towards your customers 😂

Went on a Friday evening. Nice atmosphere (probably helped by the lots of dogs) with friendly service and good food. A decent vegetarian/vegan selection of dishes and drinks too :)

The staff are wonderful, service is excellent, food delicious. Cutlery is rubbish. My partner and I both had red meat which naturally has fat running through it. The knives were so bad my partner gave up trying to cut through his food. I persevered through my yummy beef.

Visited here as part of a tour of local pubs! It’s a traditional place with very decent beer. If I’m ever in Bethnal Green again, I’d stop here again. Food also looks good!

Extremely unfriendly staff.
We booked a table for the France-Hungary football match. (2pm, June 19) upon arrival we were informed that our table was indoors. We asked if we could be seated outside as that’s were we wanted to watch the match and the online booking system didn’t allow to pick outdoors or indoors.
The staff had no intention to help or have an apprehensive conversation about the problem.
It was 2pm and all of their tables outside were free at that point, 50% of them with booking from 5-6pm. We explained that we would only stay for 90 minutes which is the duration of the match

Nice place for a pint or two and good atmosphere. The staff seemed reluctant to turn down the volume of tv which no-one was watching. A few too many smokers spoilt it.

Initially, we only planned to see the exhibition upstairs...Artist: Sandra Mujinga.
We didn't realise we'd be able to get a table. So we ended up having a few beers and some yummy snacks. Staff were so friendly and welcoming...all very mindful about social distancing etc. We felt very comfortable. Great outside space. Please venture upstairs when you visit... brilliant artworks!
Thanks guys we had a great afternoon. Will visit again.

It's so good to finally be back to the Approach Tavern after such a long time. The quality of the food is sublime, Chef Luca never disappoints you! The new entry Hot chocolate and avocado brownie sandwich with mango sorbet (picture attached) is a real treat, you must try it :)

A classic pub serving traditional British fare.

Drinks: Serves standard pub beers (cask and keg) as well as some additional local choices that you wont find in other nearby pubs

Eats: Had a jacket potato (first one in London at the time) and had no complaints. They were unfortunately out of beans- so I opted for the bacon and cheese and was quite happy with my order and the rocket salad served alongside.

Atmosphere: you want a British pub, the George won't disappoint

Pro tip: In London you can drink on the streets, so feel free to take your pint outside

Very nice venue with an external seating area facing out onto a relatively quiet street. If you prefer the inside it's got a central bar area that you can walk laps around if you should want to for some reason. Maybe you got lost?

There were a handful of ales available. It was a shame that my choice the 2 O Clock Ordinary was not in the best condition and was vinegarising somewhat.

Traditional Victorian boozer and home to micro brewery Dragonfly. Really tasty beers at modest prices for the area. My go to choice for a swift pint after work or at any time actually.

Although the atmosphere is nice, and the music is great, the food leaves more to be desired. We ordered burgers, and although the meat was well seasoned and a nice medium rare, the bread was stale. Unfortunately our burgers turned into fork and knife patties because the bun crumbled away and just wasn't worth eating. Our aloof server asked how the food was, but could care less about our answer.

Popped in for pub quiz, dinner and a beer on Tuesday night, new Dragonfly Brewery Early Doors lager very good even though I'm not much of a beer drinker. Mellow mixed crowd, food lovely and everything one would want in a local. Tried the Spurstowe down the street, too noisy, crowded and impersonal.

The Prince George is a wonderful pub. Yes it is populated by trendy types, but it doesnt cater for them at the expense of alienating other pub goers. They have a better range of ales on tap with the prices average for London. The decor is mostly from the 70s, which is a lovely break from loud contemporary bar style decor! They now serve food, which i was sceptical of at first. However, after having an exceptional roast dinner there on Sunday I was very impressed. It was the best roast in the area, surpassing recent ones I've had at The Pub on the Park

A great pub. The place itself is very traditional with its layout and bar with it being snuggled down a side street.

It's the people that make this place. Almost everyone seemed to be 25-35.

You do get a lot of trendies in here, what with it being Dalston and all, but everyone was relaxed and having a great night.

I'd love to go back.

I will summarise before I start - Stupidly expensive hideously pretentious venue. To make matters worse the landlord / lady are like something out of a B rate horror film. In its favour I have to say that it has one of the best jukebox music selections that I have ever come across in a pub. But if you want good music then get a few cans in and stay at home and listen to your own music that way you will not get ripped off or have your intelligence insulted in.. The Prince George.

I only have one problem with The Prince George, or just 'The George' as it is known. The problem is that I always get lost trying to find it, and even more unfortunate is the fact that I get lost on the way home after a couple of Leffe's. Considering that is my only problem with the place, it is pretty obvious that I really like it.

Situated in a lovely area on the back streets of Dalston, The George is a cosy pub that attracts a rather large crowd most days, especially in summer. The juke box is great, and as I recently discovered there is a pool table in the back room.

My favourite

The George is a great pub on the edge of Dalston, walking distance to London Fields. Always a good atmosphere, and usually packed full of people so it can be a challenge to find yourself a table, particularly during the weekend. In the summer people spill out into the beer garden, plenty of picnic benches, and they've even put out a few heaters for the smokers benefit during the colder autumn months.

Inside feels deceptively small & cosy, rickety wooden tables, chairs and stools fill the rooms. It's always refreshing to find a real pub instead of the typical London bar.

One word. SmokeyNo actually two words; ridiculously smokey and thats saying something from an person who really doesn't mind people who smoke - but when you are literally suffocated out IN THE GARDEN at the front - thats smokey. I know I am getting old when I say the place is rammed full of young hip east end crowd, and that you feel totally out of place. The Bar staff look at you like you should know who they are and drinks are pricey - £3.40 for a Guinness. Blimey.

A great 'hidden' pub in Dalston that I continue to return to despite moving away from the area. The prices are a bit steep, but the decor, good service, friendly crowd and great jukebox more than makes up for it. They don't serve food, so avoid if you're looking for something more substantial than bar snacks with your pint.
