Our dishes are freshly prepared from the best local ingredients we can lay our hands on. The big favourites? Beef & ale pie with Batemans Triple XB gravy, beer-battered Grimsby haddock and chips, and our signature 18-hour pork belly are always popular.
We have 7 en-suite B&B rooms in our Grade II Listed building, located in the heart of Ticknall. Booked a Sunday lunch at the Woolpack as we were on holiday. The food arrived quickly and there were large portions of everything (though the mash potatoes were instant...), however we booked a table at 2.30pm, and waited and waited for someone to come and take our plates so we could order our desserts, only to be told the kitchen was closed because of the football... (which was on at 8pm that day....). If we had been told in advance that the kitchen was closing early, we would have happily pre-ordered pudding. Only after we left did we realise we were all charged for 2 courses as well...

Friendly staff and very good food - which was promptly served even though it was busy. Great beer from the local brewery. Bottled table condiments (not sachets) which always impresses me. Highly recommended!

We are here for a little holiday and searched pretty much everywhere locally for a pub which was open under the current outdoor only restrictions. We have stayed in Wainfleet previously but didn't actually visit this pub and I wish we did. This was the only nice pub open locally with a decent sized outdoor area.
They have converted the parking area around the back into am outdoor seating area. Lots of space for us and our doggie to sit and have a couple of pints.
All rules followed and a nice atmosphere outside. The toilets were immaculate and the inside of the pub overall looked really nice
