The Black Horse Inn is an 18th century pub with rooms in the village of Donington on Bain, near Louth in the Lincolnshire Wolds, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. We offer a friendly welcome, exceptional food plus regularly changing real ales and wines. We are fortunate to have no less than nine micro-breweries in the local area, so Lincolnshire brewed ales and ciders are almost always available.

With eight rooms, the Black Horse Inn also offers the perfect place to stay for business customers or those exploring the local area - we are only 10 minutes from Cadwell Park motor circuit, Market Rasen Racecourse can be reached in 15 minutes and the city of Lincoln is just a 30 minute car journey.

Visited while staying in the village. A lovely warm welcome from friendly staff, who were great offering recommendations for both the local beers and the menu for a fussy veggie!. The festive menu is extensive and was served quickly and both dishes were delicious. Will definately be back when next in the area.

I had a great stay here. Rooms were very clean, there's plenty of parking and the location was perfect for me attending Cadwell Park. Staff were very accommodating and the food was excellent. All for a reasonable price making it great value for money. Well recommended. Thank you!

A comfortable stay was had here, with a very good breakfast and an excellent evening meal in the pub. Well kept local ales on tap, and this is a great location for walking or cycling in the quiet lanes of the Wolds.

Absolutely fantastic place. The food is consistently incredible with a great choice of specials alongside a superb standard menu. A great selection of beers and spirits. But above all else there is always a warm and friendly greeting from the hosts and good atmosphere.

Recently visited the Black horse inn for a meal after reading online recommendations and we wasn’t disappointed. It was very welcoming and spotlessly clean. We chose beef pie chips and peas, the food was delicious and the service was second to none.
We are looking forward to going again 😊
