Services
At Fletching Church of England School, we believe in Letting your roots grow down into him, and letting your lives be built on him'' (Colossians 2:7). This is our values tree which shows each of our values at Fletching, alongside our 'Ten Things to do Before you Leave Fletching' Poster!

Fletching CE Primary School we aim to offer an inspiring education for all pupils through having fun, going on learning adventures, exploring near and far, making friends, caring for our world and living healthy lifestyles. Our key learning behaviours of respect, perseverance, trust, caring and collaboration are embedded in our curriculum.
This term we will be going on a trip around the world with the help of our friend, Barnaby Bear! We will be stamping our passports, writing our boarding passes and packing our suitcases ready for our first stop in Antarctica! We will be learning all about which animals live at the North Pole, which animals live in the South Pole and what it's like to live in such a cold climate.
This term we are going to be exploring our wonderful world; with a particular focus on living organisms and their habitats. We will begin by exploring polar habitats, where we will look closely at polar bears and what they need to survive. We will be reading and writing about the the wonderful story 'Leaf', by Sandra Dieckmann.
We also have an over-arching enquiry question which will link to all other areas of the curriculum. The children will be able to develop their learning by branching out from the 'topic' and setting their learning on a different path. They may find that they might come away from learning about The Stone Age and onto something completely different that really interests them.
The DfE have reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." Democracy is embedded in Fletching Primary school.

Fletching School has been an integral part of our lives for the last ten years and has consistently provided both of our children with a high standard of education and broader aspects of life.
The “Small school, Big Ideas” ethos is clearly demonstrated throughout the school and embraced by all the staff who strive to obtain the best out of every child within the school. It is a well-equipped school, with good facilities and teaching standards which are continually recognised during its inspections/reviews. It is highly regarded by all those that have an association with the school and the

Fletching Primary is the most amazing, nurturing educational setting I have ever known. I have seen how primary schools have worked for over 30 years and this is by far the most excellent school I have ever come across. The head teacher Mrs White is the best I have ever met, she is so kind and considerate to each and every child, she manages the school in an excellent manner and the teachers are superb. I have two daughters at the school, in yr 5 and yr1. I moved my eldest to Fletching two years ago as she was being bullied in a larger town school. I travelled a 30 minute round trip twice a day

When we moved to the area, my three children moved to Fletching School. At their old school (which was much bigger), they were just in the crowd. Fletching has given them the chance to really get involved in public speaking, performing in shows and assemblies, and becoming an important part of a business team (Kit Car). They all have more confidence but I think more importantly, they feel like they belong.

The most amazing, nurturing Primary school. I am blessed to have this school on our doorstep. My two girls sing on the way in how much they love their school... my daughters thrive with fabulous friendships & brilliant academic results. With my eldest (Year 6) having just achieved an academic scholarship in English & Maths all due to the teachers at Fletching.

My daughter has attended the school since reception and is now in year 4. She loves the school for the teacher's and pupils caring and sharing attitude. She was very shy when she started school and she has grown and come out of her shell due to the fantastic nurturing qualities of everyone there. The school is like a large happy family and is perfectly described as a "small school with big ideas". I would heartily recommend anybody in the area with primary age kids or kids about to start school to pay a visit to see for yourself how brilliant it is.

This school is an excellent all round educational establishment but also a nurturing environment for children to grow and flourish as it is not based solely on results (although these are very good) but on being a well rounded, kind and considerate human being something that is so frequently lost in larger school situations. Our daughter has blossomed in the smaller class sizes and the excellent teachers and teaching assistants have contributed to her becoming the kind and considerate young person she is becoming. If you are looking for a great school for your children to start their educational

Fletching Primary is a wonderful school. Our elder son attends and he adores the school. He is being taught and learning in a warm and friendly environment. The staff are incredible and are very ably led. The breadth of extra curricular opportunities is fantastic and the school engenders each child with a true curiosity about themselves and the world around them. We could not be happier with this brilliant place of learning.

I went to this school when Mrs Ann Bishop was head teacher my mum Ruth Hewison was a dinner lady and afternoon helper also playgroup worker in the village Hall! The village needs the school to help build little people's future it's a wonderful school and I have so many great memorys! Don't take the future away from the children just because of… money! Make it work fill the school with new children from the new housing estates popping up everywhere!!! A smaller personal school means more friends less bullies and more academic interaction for learning more than a class of a big number!

Fletching school is simply amazing. The team of staff are positive and nurturing and this shines through our children. They are happy, confident and thriving young people. The many opportunities offered to our children such as forest school, in the setting of Sheffield park and services (especially the Christmas nativity) being held in the beautiful village church mean that it’s totally magical on so many levels. Set just outside the growing town of Uckfield it is perfectly positioned and must be considered by any parent who feels that the bigger schools are not for their children. Don’t miss

I have been part of the Fletching School community for nearly 10 years. Firstly, with my eldest daughter, currently with my son in year 5, and in September my youngest daughter will be taking her place in reception class.
This school has been a huge part of all our lives and the kindness and togetherness of all involved, from the children to the parents to the staff, is without comparison. I am currently a TA at the School and feel privileged to be part of the Fletching community, both as a parent and as a staff member.

As a family, we have been at Fletching School for 14 years and it has been a wonderful experience for my 4 children. Fletching School offer a very special experience to children, and when it’s time to leave, they are well rounded individuals, brimming with confidence, knowing how to treat those around them with respect and kindness. Life is not… always about achieving academic results and bums on seats. Life is about living in a community, getting on with each other and enjoying life. Don’t take this away from Fletching. You don’t have to live in Fletching to go to Fletching

Fletching School has been amazing for my daughter who is now in year 6. She struggles emotionally yet has been supported with each issue through nurture groups and thrive sessions. I too feel incredibly supported whether that be with the staff, parents or wider local community. Even though my daughter is due to leave the school at the end of term, I feel just as passionately that the school must remain open.
