Grovelands Community Primary School
Grovelands School has been serving the Hailsham community since 1934 and we are very proud of our wonderful school building and surrounding grounds. This is enhanced by the school's happy ethos and welcoming atmosphere, pupils at the school are given the opportunity to explore their talents in a number of ways whether that be academically, on the sports' field or in our wide variety of performing arts.

Grovelands School is a very inclusive school and we are proud to have children of all abilities at the school and enjoy seeing everyone develop as a member of the school community. The ethos of the school and our slogan of 'Believe, Create, Achieve', is based on encouraging all children to achieve excellence through challenge and a belief in themselves.
Services
Each year we identify areas within the school that need to be developed, these priorities are set based on the school's evaluation of its performance during that academic year. We then create a School Development Plan for the academic year. Leaders should ensure that all subjects are well sequenced so that pupils build their understanding securely over time.
At Grovelands we are fortunate to have many facilities that support and enrich the delivery of our school curriculum:. The school has been selected by the local authority to establish a provision for pupils with a diagnosis of autism. They should be able to be integrated into a mainstream setting for part of their learning.
Increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels of which they are capable (emphasis on positive attitudes towards healthy, active lifestyles). We receive a lump sum of 16,000. The planned use of the PE and sport funding at Grovelands will be effective in improving and sustaining high quality PE and sports provision.
The Children and Families Act 2014 says that all maintained schools must publish a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Information Report every year. This report explains how our school meets the needs of children with SEN. In the report, we explain how we meet our duties towards pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent. The Governing Board meets every term for a formal pre-arranged meeting but the Governors will be in school much more often.

Grovelands is a good school which has given us as parents help with our child's speech and language. Thank you to all the staff who have helped so far since my child started in reception in 2016.
