We want our school to be a safe and caring place with exciting things to do where everyone is equal and respected. We want to make the most of all our opportunities and be encouraged to take more responsibility. We will do our best and achieve high standards by being well behaved and by working hard, with Jesus at the Heart of our School.
Sacred Heart School, situated in its own extensive grounds off Old London Road, just above the picturesque old town of Hastings, is the official primary school for the Parish of St. Mary Star-of-the-Sea, Hastings. Formerly a private school for secondary girls, the school changed in 1964 to a Voluntary Aided primary school to provide primary places for the Catholic families of the parish.

Services
My hope for Sacred Heart School community this year is that we live out our Vision every day; "to provide an excellent education for all where everyone is valued and encouraged to develop fully." My aim as Headteacher is to nurture the wonderful commitment and dedication to our children shown by all school staff.
Communicating with parents is an important part of what we do, making sure you get the correct information about activities, events and things that really matter is something we care about. As you know, the school uses ParentMail, a service used by over 6,000 schools, nurseries and children's clubs to communicate to parents.
Curriculum overviews for each year group can be found on the school website on the appropriate class page. At Sacred Heart there is a rigorous programme of phonics teaching across the school. In KS1 and EYFS daily teaching takes place in focussed groups. In KS2 identified children participate in phonics and reading groups.
This includes accommodation, catering, insurance, travel to and from the site and all activities. This is a self-contained building just for our school. Bedrooms sleep between 2 and 5. Bed linen is provided. Deposit: 100 (non-refundable if the trip goes ahead) must be paid to secure a place. A small toy, book or notebook and pen will suffice as there will be very little free-time.
