Rye Community Primary School
Our school is a kind, caring and inclusive space where children feel safe and well-looked after. Every child is known as an individual and their unique talents are recognised and celebrated. We are part of a family of schools that serve the young people of Rye from two to sixteen years of age, enabling us to offer a consistent nursery, primary and secondary education.

We are proud of our place at the centre of the community, serving local children and their families. Our aim is to unlock the gifts and talents found in every learner regardless of ability, background or need; offer a vibrant curriculum which challenges every child to success; and develop the love of learning and high aspirations that will serve our pupils well as they grow.
Services
Situated within Rye Community Primary School, as part of Aquinas Trust, we provide Early Years Education and care for children from the age of 2 years in our brand new purpose built environment. At Pugwash we have a child centred approach to the Early Year Foundation Stage Curriculum. Working with parents we personalise the care, play and learning opportunities for every child.
Big enough to support, but small enough to care plus we have a proven track record of turning sponsored schools around. In our schools, every learner flourishes, regardless of their background or starting point. We believe every community deserves an effective school, and bring the diligence and security to make that happen.
The school is an academy within the Aquinas Church of England Education Trust (Aquinas). The responsibility for the oversight and management of all aspects of the Aquinas rests with the Board of Trustees. The day to day management of Aquinas has been delegated by the Trustees to the Chief Executive Officer, Kathy Griffiths.
Rye Community Primary School is committed to serving its local national and international community. It recognises the multi-cultural, multi faith and ever-changing landscape of the United Kingdom. It also understands the vital role it has in ensuring that groups or individuals within any environment are not subjected to intimidation or radicalisation by those wishing to unduly, or illegally, influence them.
The Early Years Foundation Stage is a birth to 5yrs curriculum. It is followed by all Ofsted registered childcare providers and Reception classes in England. The EYFS is a play based curriculum where highly skilled practitioners use observations to assist them in supporting a child to their next steps in learning.

After a shaky start at another local school, our son Daniel joined Rye Primary in the middle of Year 3 last April . As the summer holidays draw to an end - he said to me yesterday 'I can't wait to go back to school'! This is testament to all the staff at Rye - the quality of teaching and professionalism plus their happiness in what they do, filters down to the children. It is so clear this is an excellent school. Long may it continue
