PATIENT NOTICE - OUR NEW 'NORMAL' Our GPs are doing telephone / video appointments, should you then need a face-face appointment they will arrange this. Lancashire and South Cumbria has been chosen by NHS England to be a national pilot for the digitisation of Medical Records.
Scanning these paper based records and making them digital will enable better utilisation of space, creating more clinical space, staff areas, multi team space and video hubs, removing the need for some practices to build extensions. In addition it will also make your record more easily and speedily accessible to clinical staff within your practice.

Services
The Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistant work closely with the Doctors and are trained to provide a variety of services. You may book directly with the Practice Nurse for such services as foreign travel immunisations, cervical smears and medical advice etc. The Health Care Assistant works under supervision doing bloods, blood pressures etc.
The Practice fully complies with the Data Protection Act 1998. Under the Act patients have a right to be informed whether personal data about them is being processed and have the right of access to the data. Patients can review the data processed and formal applications for access should be made in writing to the Practice Manager.
The standard tells organisations how to make information accessible to people in the format they need, as well as support people's communication needs, for example by offering support from a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, deafblind manual interpreter or an advocate. We want to know if you need someone to support you at appointments e.g. a sign language interpreter or an advocate.
A: Unfortunately, the Daneshouse Medical Practice has seen a steady decline in patient numbers over the last year, and because of this it is no longer possible to continue providing GP services to such small numbers. Everyone should be registered with a GP practice.
To ensure that this happens we have worked with neighbouring Burnley GP practices who have agreed to receive patients in a careful, managed way so that everyone can continue to receive GP services. As part of this, you have been allocated to a neighbouring GP practice to ensure you have continuity of care.

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working in Ightenhill Medical Centre in the last financial year was 63,385 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 1 full time GP and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.

Very disappointing care. They change telephone appointment times, only for the out of hours service to never phone. When contacting the GP the following day you get told it’s not their fault and that they have now given your original booked appointment slot to somebody else, so you will have to be booked in for in again. Then you will wait around for the next available appointment in about 3 days time, only for the GP to never phone. They take no responsibility for the mistakes they make and show no compassion. Over 2 weeks and 4 booked appointments later I am still waiting to finally speak to

After visiting the surgery this morning I’m absolutely astounded at the rudeness that’s just been thrown at us. We couldn’t speak or voice our concerns and where just shouted at, like some kind of idiot. After reading the surgery’s mission statement, stating they provide person centred care and stating they listen to patient concerns, This is absolutely not the case.

As far as NHS GP surgeries go I'd say it's not too bad at all. I've seen Dr Iqbal the partner and a locum Dr Muzzifer both face to face and Dr Jawad a long term locum face to face and spoken to him on the phone. Always sorted out the issue I went to them about. Practice nurse friendly as well. Because I have a southern accent, one of the receptionists recognises my voice when I call up and is always friendly and addresses me by my sir name. Up here people think waiting 3 days for a routine appointment is a long wait but where I'm from you can wait up to a month. Here the wait is usually maximum
