St. Mary's Under 5's is a committee run preschool; it is also a registered charity (Registration Number 1028924). The preschool employs 11 members of staff. We are very proud of this achievement and the staff and committee remain fully committed to maintaining this high level of care and learning for every child attending the preschool.

Services
The Preschool encourages free flow play by allowing the children to use both the outdoor and indoor environment independently. We support learning through play with appropriate resources to meet the childrens learning and development stages. Every child will be allocated a Key Person prior to their start date with an opportunity to meet with staff to discuss your child's individual needs.
Our policies and procedures outline our everyday practice. As a team, we are continually reflecting and evaluating our practice and always welcome feedback from our parents. Please find attached a booklet to help parents/carers find out more about how your child is learning and developing during their first first in relation to the EYFS.
The preschool is run by an elected committee of parents/carers with children attending the preschool. This ensures that major decision making is in the hands of the parents/carers who use the group. The committee is responsible for renewing both policy and practice within the group and for the employment and appraisal of members of staff.
The children's fees/funding pays for all the necessities of the preschool; rent, wages, insurance, telephone. Fundraising pays for all other equipment. Throughout the year there are fundraising events and help is usually needed for these. If you would like to help raise funds for the preschool or have any ideas on how to raise money, please speak to a member of the committee.
