In play, loose parts are materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in multiple ways. They are materials with no specific set of directions that can be used alone or combined with other materials. Loose parts can be natural or synthetic.
The pre-school is based in an annexe in the infant department of Istead Rise Primary School. It has it's own dedicated facilities including outside play area but also benefits from use of the school infant hall and school grounds/playground. Access to the pre-school is via a gate to the outside play area, which is locked once each session has started until collection time.
If your child is 2 years old they may be entitled to funding up to five sessions a week; If not the fee is 13.50 per session. If your child is 3 years old they are entitled to funding for up to five sessions a week from the term after their 3rd birthday (and in some instances for the full 10 sessions) until they go to school.
