Bright Sparks Pre-school is based at The Child Centre, Sycamore Drive, Swanley and has been operating for more than 20 years. In this time, we have welcomed children from surrounding areas and helped to prepare them for their early years at Primary school. The Pre-school is open to all children aged between 2 and 5 years and has been OFSTED inspected.
We are a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance.

Services
At Bright Sparks, we follow the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS 2017) for children from birth to five as set out by the Department for Education. The EYFS sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.
This involves giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves; and to speak and listen in a range of situations. This involves providing opportunities for young children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control and movement.
This involves encouraging children to link sounds and letters and to begin to read and write. Children must be given access to a wide range of reading materials (books, poems and other written materials) to ignite their interest.
This involves providing children with opportunities to develop and improve their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple additiona and subtraction problems; and to describe shapes, spaces and measures. This involves guiding children to make sense of their physical world and their community through opportunities to explore, observe and find out about people, places, technology and the environment.

We aim to provide a happy, stimulating and secure environment where children can develop new skills to the best of their own individual abilities. We feel that when children are relaxed, safe, valued and having fun it builds their confidence and develops independence, social skills & general knowledge- thereby paving the way for their move to school.
We have a high ratio of adults to children in the setting which helps us to give time and attention to each child and helps the children to experience and benefit from the activities we provide. Qualified and experienced staff are available at all times, including a First Aider. Staff regularly attend training courses to continue their professional development.
