We really do look forward to hearing from you and having the opportunity to show you around our pre-school! Newman Pre-School Playgroup is a registered charity and a member of the Early Years Alliance.
It is managed by a voluntary Parent Committee, who are responsible for fundraising and the general administration of the Playgroup, which is run on a day to day basis by a team of highly dedicated staff. We are proud that our adult-to-child ratios are higher than those legally required by the Early Years Foundation Stage, enabling us to offer a high attention to detail and the best experience for every child in our care.

We are very proud of our staff at the Newman Pre-School Playgroup. They are dedicated, professional and love their jobs. We are delighted to be able to provide a high ratio of adults to children in our setting which we feel is of great benefit to the children, as it enables us to provide individual attention for all the needs and development of each child.
Newman Pre-school Playgroup is managed by a parent committee (trustees) whose main roles encompass the employment of the staff, the maintenance of the financial stability of the playgroup and the organisation of any social and fundraising activities. The committee is not involved in the organisation or care of the children in the daily playgroup sessions, but employs our Playgroup Leader, Heather Grant, and her staff.
The pre-school is an equal opportunities playgroup, which is open to all sections of the community. Payment must be received by the first day of term at the latest. Please note that fees continue to be payable if a child is absent. Each child's attendance at pre-school is conditional upon continued payment of any necessary fees.
We are a registered charity managed by a parent committee. To subsidise funding we have to rely on fundraising events throughout the year to keep the pre-school open and to provide fun, educational resources for the children. Sponsored Obstacle course - that the children do - though perhaps one year we should get the parents to do it!.

This is a wonderful pre-school. The staff are highly experienced and qualified and fantastic with the children, and many of them have been with the setting for a long time and clearly love their job and working together. The premises are excellent, especially the outdoor play area. Children have a choice of a large range of varied activities, covering the whole of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) syllabus. My son went here as a shy toddler and grew so much in confidence that he was more than ready for 'big school' when the time came, and now his little sister has just started and is loving
