Wellspring provides affordable, professional counselling for adults in North Somerset, as well as donation-based counselling and low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for young people age 11-18. The charity was established in 1994 by local church leaders and GPs to provide confidential help and support to people in the local community.
We offer our services to all who seek help regardless of gender, ethnic origin or religious beliefs. Many of the CBT sessions for young people take place in local secondary schools thanks to a grant from The National Lottery.

Services
Our team includes adult counsellors, young people's counsellors and wellbeing practitioners who offer support to young people experiencing mild difficulties with their mental health. When you first contact us, you will usually speak to one of our Admin team who will explain to you what happens next.
By joining this growing community of Wellspring supporters you will be helping us create regular, accessible funds to help secure these services both now and in the future. We invite you to offer us a regular donation, ideally by standing order which, if you are a taxpayer, can be gift aided. 20 per month will help provide counselling for 1 client (based on an average of six sessions).
Wellspring has a wonderful team of volunteer receptionists who volunteer approximately one evening every 4 -6 weeks to help with meeting and greeting clients among other duties at Tower House Medical Centre in Nailsea. We are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and our team of volunteers are a vital part of enabling Wellspring to offer evening sessions for clients.
Wellspring is governed by a board of trustees. Currently, we have eight trustees who provide experience and expertise in a wide range of business and professional capacities. Deborah is minister with pastoral charge of Nailsea and Backwell Methodist churches and has been a Wellspring trustee since 2017.
Counselling is talking to someone independent who is professionally trained and who can help you become clearer about your thoughts and feelings and help you find your own solutions. You might want to make changes in your life or you may be facing bereavement, redundancy, the breakdown of a close relationship or the onset of serious illness.
