We firmly believe that children should be free to play, explore, get muddy and be children!. Brookside pre-school is a registered charity which aims to provide the local community with a quality pre-school provision. We strive to offer children a happy and enjoyable introduction to their educational journey by building their core foundations to learning.
During the first few years of a child's life the brain develops rapidly. Positive experiences and stimulation for young children are therefore vital to well-being in later life. We aim to make sure that every child who comes to Brookside will leave with confidence, independence and a love for learning ready for the next stage in their education.

Services
Brookside pre-school is tucked away in the scout hut at the top of Gatley Hill. We are very fortunate to be surrounded by woods, fields and a stream. We take full advantage of this and go out spontaneously on adventures. We follow a Forest school approach whilst outdoors, we introduce safety and boundaries to the children and allow them to lead their own learning.
Within our supportive and safe environment, each child has a key person who is responsible for their well-being, development and transition from home to school. All members of our team have fully enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks. All staff hold regularly updated qualifications in Safeguarding, Early Years, Positive Behaviour, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Health & Safety.
Our children benefit from strong links with the local community. We support our Children to build up a sense of community from a young age, to learn about where they fit in, and to begin to understand the value of having local services. We often visit local shops, coffee shops, parks, allotments, local care home, library, local events and local primary schools.
At Brookside we believe that the outdoors provides children with vital development opportunities which can not be replicated indoors. The chance to connect with the natural world; first hand experiences of life and growth; endless opportunities for creativity and imagination; improved fitness and physical development - the countless benefits of outdoor play have a real positive impact on children's lives.

Quite simply the best pre-school provision I have ever come across. The kids really do have adventures! An incredibly nurturing, engaging and inventive team in a lovely woodland setting. They have excellent staffing ratio's and are just plain excellent. They're embracing of all cultures, they get the kids involved in the outdoors. They even had eggs in an incubator hatch in to chicks this spring!
My youngest simply loves it, it's clearly his favourite place and he has a mixture of childcare through the week including school pre-school and a for-profit nursery. These guys, Brookside are a local

We used Brookside Pre-School for our eldest son, and he loved it there. they have the woodland setting which is great if the kids need a field to run around in. They've got wet and dry areas so the kids can explorer textures, and they get the kids involved in making amazing murals and wall coverings. Still love the Chinese dragon they made last year.
We felt very welcomed in to a warm nurturing environment, where the staff are very professional and yet friendly. As a parent, i was impressed with the level of detail they went to, I remember last year they reared chicks from eggs around easter time
