Atherton Pre-School Day Care was established in 1966. Formerly known as 'Lee Street Nursery' and then 'High Street Nursery', the provision has thrived over the decades; many parents attended the nursery themselves as a child! After major investment into brand new facilities at our new setting, local children and their families are now benefiting from what we have to offer.
We have extremely high aspirations for our children, who all make excellent progress during their time with us and practitioners take pride in watching them learn and thrive! We pride ourselves on the strong and effective relationships we build with parents and carers and expect high levels of involvement from them.

Services
Historically we have changed, adapted and grown in the direction of the need of the families we serve. Even from the very beginning, back in 1966, we existed primarily as a mother toddler group, which was a small group that was established and nurtured by a group of local mothers. Being responsive to the needs of our families is the key to our success!
As stakeholders, we would like to let you know what we plan to do in order to ensure that we continually improve our provision. Here are our main priorities to ensure that all children progress, are happy and safe! Build upon how we use assessments data to further develop children's progress in their learning.
I would like to start by thanking the vast majority of parents and children who wear their uniform daily and look fantastic. Unfortunately, there are still a number of children who are not adhering to the school uniform policy. The uniform is statutory and it is an expectation that every child should adhere to it on a daily basis without exception.
Our Voluntary Management Committee have ultimate responsibility for directing the activity of the organisation, ensuring it is well run and delivering the outcomes for which it has been set up. Monitoring the activities of the organisation to ensure they are in keeping with the founding principles, objects and values.
It is with pleasure that we can provide some of the comments and feedback that we have received from our supportive parents and carers. Atherton Pre-School has delivered the highest standards of care and support to my son Bobbie. The staff are welcoming and informative and offer so much to all of the children attending.
