Starting Pre-School is a significant milestone in your child's and family's life. To ensure a positive start, you and your child will gain the support and encouragement that our Pre-School can provide.
A key-person will be allocated to your child to liaise with you ensuring a smooth transition into Pre-school. They will closely monitor your child's progress throughout their time at Pre-school and feedback regularly. Our continuous provision of activities and experiences provides opportunities for each of these and covers all of the seven learning and development areas as defined in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Services
Our Pre-school started as the local playgroup more than 40 years ago and as demand increased the pre-school changed to a charity run pre-school, registered with Ofsted in 1989. In 2014 on the advice of The Charity Commission we changed our legal status to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) giving more protection to those overseeing the running of the pre-school.

Appleton Thorn Pre-School is a fun and friendly environment where your child can prepare for school. Appleton Thorn Pre-School is a small setting with low numbers and high staffing ratios, this allows us to develop a good relationship with the whole family not just your child and gives a feeling of a 'home from home'.
