Just returned from a week's stay over the new year.
Nice location situated close to ullswater and other beauty spots. Tasteful lodges and a very well kept site. Hot tub was a nice bonus and rather private. Would of benefitted by having a overhead retractable canopy tho so could be used in the heavy rain but other than that was a nice touch.
The cabin itself was nicely finished and modern which was comfortable. Quite a few small flies accumulated from somewhere inside the cabin, no idea where they were coming from but wasn't a make of break ordeal.
Fresh towels supplied which was a nice bonus

Second time of stopping here. Great base to explore from. Accommodation is what you would expect from Hoeseasons however we had a massive upgrade due to the storm knocking out the power to our booked accommodation.
Downside is I've been spoilt so will have to upgrade myself next time. No TV or WiFi for a couple of days due to the storm but WiFi was better than on our previous visit.

Most enjoyable stay here in one of the newest lodges. The accomodation was very clean, comfortable and warm although a few things lacking like a doormat at the main entrance door and a broken handle on the shower door. I was surprised to see a little mould in the shower in such a new lodge. It was a shame I couldn't use the hot tub as it wasn't on the decking level, as in other places, so involved steep high steps but I'm sure fine for the able bodied. The tub was certainly private. There were no views to speak of which I was hoping for (aside from that of other lodges). The staff were friendly

Stayed in much better lodges. Good base but that's the only good thing I can really say. Lodges too close together. Beds very uncomfortable. Which we could live with if there wasn't a horrendous infestation of flies. Never seen anything like it. Loads of closet space but only 4 hangers for 4 people! Asked for more & given hangers without a hook to hang them. Told them about infestation & given fly spray. Still having nightmares about swallowing flies in my sleep!
