Welcome to Heaton Mersey Medical Practice providing primary care for Heaton Mersey and surrounding areas. We hope you take your time to browse our website where you will find lots of useful information about the surgery and the services we offer. How likely are you to recommend our GP practice to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?
Services
When our phone lines are closed you will automatically be transferred to the Out of Hours Service (Mastercall). If your call is between the hours of 8am to 8.30am or between the hours of 6pm to 6.30pm, Mastercall will provide you with appropriate medical attention. Between the hours of 6.30pm to 8am you will hear a recorded message asking you to hang up and call NHS 111 by dialling 111.
Appointments are normally 10 minutes but if you have a problem which you feel is likely to take longer then please contact the surgery on 0161 983 9400 and request a double appointment. We operate appointments for patients needing to be seen urgently / same day. Please contact the surgery on 0161 983 9400 if you wish to make such an appointment.
The flu clinics are being held at various times of the day, including early morning and late evening as well as many during the day. We are also running a Saturday morning flu clinic. You will need to book an appointment for all flu clinics this year as we are not offering any open access clinics as we have done historically, based on feedback from our patients.
If you are housebound or too ill to come to the surgery a home visit may be requested by telephoning 0161 983 9400 before 10.30am where possible to help the doctor plan his/her day. In case of an emergency please tell the receptionist who will inform the doctor. It is important all patients read the attached document which explains our policy and criteria for home visits.
Vaccinations for travel are available at the surgery. Please note we require at least SIX WEEKS NOTICE PRIOR TO TRAVELLING to ensure we can offer you a suitable appointment should you need one, as our nurse appointments tend to get booked up in advance, and to give enough time for our nurses to check what vaccinations and advice you require prior to your appointment.
