Services
We work closely with the practice. We talk to them if we have any ideas about how we think things might be improved. We also report back if patients have concerns over any aspect of the running of the practice. We also say "Thanks" when things are going well! A Doctors' representative and the practice manager usually attend our meetings so we can have good discussions.
We at Haughton Thornley Medical Centres have been encouraging patients to register for online services for over 14 years now. Book appointments online for health care assistants, phlebotommists, nurses and now some GP appointments too. Tradiitonally patients could do this by going online via a computer or laptop.

Zero stars for this shocking excuse for a Dr's surgery.
It's nearly impossible to get somebody on the phone and when you finally do they just fob you off with the old phone back at 8 tomorrow line...iv been trying to get an appointment since October to still no avail.. the fact that we tax payers fund this shocking ponzi scheme of a surgery is disgusting ....iv never had any actual help from these so called Dr's.. and the receptionists are power mad haugton Thornley medical center YOU GIVE THE NHS A BAD NAME!

I have never been able to get myself an appointment as the system does not work. I do not have time to chase doctors yet we all pay for this shocking service.
However I do get a message after I see a private gp. Yes I pay a fortune to have my issues dealt with because the practice wont see patients.
On the occasions I have been to the surgery with the children when my wife has battled for days to get them an appointment I notice there is nobody there? What do the doctors do all day?

I am really disappointed with this surgery. I tried to make an appointment over the week through online but failed.all the time,it was said that maximum number of the patient already received so try later or ring the gp number.when I rang the surgery they said,please ring next day at 8 am . So I rang 8 am and after waiting 45 minutes waiting ( my queue was 29!),the receptionist told me, there was no appointments for today! You have to go A&E. I was speechless and down about there behaviour!!

Recently had a tooth out and ended up with a dry socket, anyone who has suffered with this will know how painful it is, all I wanted from the GP were some painkillers stronger than Paracetamol and Ibuprofen, GP policy is not to see patients with tooth complaints, which I understand, I was actually waiting for a follow-up dental appointment, and just needed pain relief to get me through till then, all I got was a very rude and unhelpful receptionist who had no sympathy even though I pleaded on the phone to speak to a gp, I suffered incredible pain for 3 days, who gives receptionists the right to

Dr Guttrage is not fit to practice as this person is dismissive, not compassionate, miss diagnose symptoms when it's obvious as she can't be bothered or she thinks she is too good to get a second opinion. Arrogant comes to mind when I think of her. I have complained to the practice manager on 2 occasions but I believe she is a partner at the surgery so it's brushed under the carpet. I would go as far as saying she is like doctor Shipman. I would like you all to know be careful if you see her and pls do seek a second opinion as long as she is there. I will petition to the medical council to get

I had an appointment with a nurse to see how i am doing on my prescription and to be able to get more as i only had less than a week left of my prescription. The call never happened, i called them and apparently i am not on the system and i am not a part of this surgery. Nothing changed in the week that i called to make the appointment, the receptionist said i have to go to them and fill in a form to re-register and waste my petrol and time on their data issue. Spent my day trying to find a pharmacy that will allow me to buy my medication without a prescription as its unknown how long it would

I honestly am suprised at the bad reviews I'm in agreement with the appointment system but this is now generally the same for all surgeries it definitely isn't the fault of the surgery its self that blame lies squarely with the NHS less GPs increasing workloads on
Doctors & Nurses which in turn is adding to the work load of receptionist who may then be a little more stressed and have little less time to listen to silly complaints and abuse they get as front line workers!!! This surgery has been fantastic all Dr's are great but Dr Hanann is by far the best Doctor I've ever had. I moved here 6 years

We tuck our lad to the circumcision clinic here... and I have to say everyone involved the Dr and support staff did a fanatic job... the Dr went through everything before during and after... the whole processes was very professional. Local anesthestic was used and we were allowed to view the procedure... reading up on the the whole thing and finding the right clinic I have to say we were very pleased with the whole experience. Highly recommend.
