Denton Medical Practice
Denton Medical Practice website contains information about the services currently available and how you as a patient can avail them, depending on your needs. We are open from 08:00 am to 06:30 pm Monday to Fridays. We also provide extended opening hours to allow patients to attend appointments outside of the normal working times and are open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 07:00 am for pre-booked appointments.
Services
The surgery times shown below should only be used as a guideline as to the Practice's planned consultation times. Consultations are by appointment only. Please make a separate appointment for each member of the family that requires attention. If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know, even at short notice, as an urgent case may then be fitted in.
If you need medical attention between 6:30 pm and 8:00 am on week days, during the weekend and public holidays, please ring 111. Please bear in mind that this service is also for those with an urgent need, who cannot wait until the next working day to be dealt with by the normal GP service. You may also wish to contact the telephone advice service 111 - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year if you need medical help fast, but it's not a 999 emergency.
Please note that all telephone calls at the practice are recorded to ensure optimum service levels and for training purposes. Patients requiring an urgent appointment on the same day will be able to call 0161 320 8788 from 08:00 am but before 11:00 am to be considered for a triage appointment. Patients will initially receive a telephone call from either the GP or the Nurse Practitioner.
When ordering online, please allow two full working days i.e 48 hours (excluding weekends) for your prescription to be ready. Please note that if you request your prescription after 12.00noon it will not be processed until the next working day. If you wish to have your repeat prescription form delivered to your address, you will need to post your repeat list with a stamped addressed envelope.
Our practice has a defined boundary which has been agreed with the Tameside and Glossop CCG. The catchment area comprises of Denton, part of Audenshaw and the adjoining area. This includes Guidebridge, Dane Bank, Haughton Green and part of Dukinfield. Part of post code M34 and SK14 is included in our catchment area.

Do not deal with by phone, useless
The entire surgery seems to just wing it. No one seems to communicate or know what is going on. They blame there own faults and failures on other medical teams. I have now been phoning for over a month trying to get a simple answer of "why has no one replied to my doctor with the needed information".... I'm still waiting for not only a reply, or an answer...but just for someone to acknowledge what I am saying .

If you don't value the health and wellness of your family then by all means contact Denton Medical Practice.
Personal review: my 2 year old child has a potential lactose intolerance problem and when we phoned them up in our hour of need, they didn't care one bit and told us to "just phone 111"
Absolutely appalling behaviour from doctors who are supposed to be there for the local community.
You'll have some cases of "good" experiences but they need to do that otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to remain open.
IT HAS A 2.5 RATING FOR A REASON

I rang up for an emergency appointment for my 1 year old son because he woke up with swollen eyes, the expert receptionist rudely dismissed it and said to go to an optometrist, we rang 111 instead, long story short, my son has a kidney disease. These receptionist are clearly not qualified to work in healthcare, I dread to think how many people have missed out on medical help at the decision of the receptionist, or worse how many people have died due to the medical neglect from these expert receptionist. Disgusting. This practice needs investigating!

If your looking for a gp. Don't use this one. You can never get an appointment, if you do it takes
around a month to be seen. If its an emergency you can never get through. It took me 31 times to get through only to be told to ring 111. Where you will be accessed to have an appointment back at your gp.i have been with this surgery sine it was a the surgery in a house. Many years ago. It has gone from bad to worse. No wonder the hospitals are over run.

Very poorly run doctors when are receptionist especially at this practice going to realise they are not doctors and deciding for themselves who can and can't be seen and been very rude on the phone if you except people to be polite on phone at all times then you need to do the same.

The new practice appointment procedure with Covid is really efficient with the appointment system and with how patients are let in and out made me feel comfortable at my appointment. Had my smear test today, which isn't the most comfortable experience but the nurse made me feel relaxed throughout. I had had a couple of appointments cancelled but I was put on the cancellation list and was offered an appointment for the following week.
