Dr Thomas felt he could rule out vocal cord dysfunction without a “challenge” even though that is standard at OHSU, where he used to (be allowed to) practice. He ruled out VCD, even though I made it clear my symptoms occurred when exposed to chemicals I am sensitive to.
He also, rudely, said: “the quality of your voice doesn’t matter, since you are not a singer.” Since my paperwork showed singing was an issue, this was particularly hurtful.
Do not waste your time seeing this has-been doctor.
